Darlington - Gordon L. Day, 57 of Rt 1, Darlington died unexpected in his home at 4:00 p.m. Sunday. Mr. Day was employed at Farmers Feed & Grain at Darlington. He was a member of the Bible Baptist Church at Crawfordsville and Army Reserve. He attended Tangier schools. Born March 22, 1924 in Fountain County, he was a son of Murl and Geneva Lewis Day. He married Margaret Louise Stewart Sept 4, 1943 at Chicago. She survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Rita Nicholas of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Ida Sowders of Linden; two sons, David M. of Little Rock, AZ and Jim of Darlington; four brothers, Archie of Battleground, Jack of Russellville, Brownie of Darlington and Dick of Rockville; six sisters, Susie Witsman of Covington, Josephine Stewart of Crawfordsville, Wanda Radcliff of Hillsboro, Mary "Abbie' Fischer of Alamo, Nora Ann Day of Crawfordsville and Rose Jardell of Lawrence, Texas; four grandsons, four granddaughters and nieces and nephews. An infant daughter is deceased. Services are scheduled at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Burkhart Funeral Home, Darlington Chapel with Rev. Jim Rivers officiating. Burial in Odd Fells Cemetery, Darlington. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Tuesday.
